The Walking Dead Season 3 Premiere was on Sunday and it was an amazing episode that left you wondering what will happen on the next episode. But as I am watching the show, I noticed a lot of product placement from Hyundai. I really observe how they are using traditional and new media together.
According to Trendrr.TV, “The Walking Dead” was #1 show in Daily Cable. They had a daily activity of over 1 million. I also looked up the show’s Facebook page and they have over 11 million likes. So Hyundai was very smart for integrating their brand into a very popular show. Their brand is exposed to thousands and thousands of viewers. While watching the show, they also included a promotion. Every time there was a commercial, a “special” word was announced. There were 3 of them. Once you obtained the three words, you would enter those words and enter a sweepstakes to win a Hyundai car.
So Hyundai has the exposure in television and in the web. Hyundai in their Facebook page talked about The Walking Dead and started a conversation. People are also talking about Hyundai in twitter because of the popularity in Twitter. I think Hyundai is doing a great job!
